Senior Engineer / Analyst

  • As a Senior Engineer/Analyst with ASA you will provide direct engineering support to the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense Research and Engineering Prototyping and Experimentation located in Arlington, VA.  In this role you will:
    • Support the planning, coordinating, and execution of a large-scale multi-year demonstration and experimentation campaign to evaluate the operational utility of prototypes in a multi-domain environment.
    •  Support the development of a strategy and framework for identifying prototype mission capabilities into demonstration or experimentation venues to evaluate their operational utility.
    •  Produce concepts of operations, lessons learned, or technical reports to identify operational successes and capability gaps to maximize the campaign’s alignment to mitigate gaps.
    •  Build interest and engagement from Military Service to establish Tactics Techniques and Procedures (TTPs) to facilitate the transition of prototyping capabilities into programs of record for sustainment.
  • Qualifications:
    •  10+ years of technical experience.
    •  Knowledge of Project Management Best Practices. 
  • Desired Qualifications:
    •  Experience interfacing with Joint Staff, Services, and warfighters to coordinate engineering and analysis needs and analytic results.
    •  ISR & EW, space and stratospheric capabilities, demonstration, and experimentation of prototypes.
    •  Military or OSD experience.
  • Education Requirements:
    • Bachelor of Science degree or higher in engineering, scientific, or technical discipline relevant to evaluation of designs, C4ISR, electronic warfare, or military operations.
  • Clearance requirements:
    • Active TOP SECRET (TS) clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) eligibility.
    •  U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.

Army Technology Transition SME

  • As the Army Technology Transition SME, you will facilitate the transition of priority demonstrated joint capabilities to the U.S. Army and other partners through persistent, proactive stakeholder engagement to close time-critical gaps in high-priority, multi-component warfighting missions. Daily work directly supports the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Mission Capabilities (ASD(MC)) within the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering (OUSD(R&E)).
  • Primary responsibilities are to:
    • Advise the Military Services, Joint Staff, and OSD stakeholders on strategies for successfully transitioning technologies from prototypes and joint experimentation activities to Service programs of record.
    • Provide subject-matter expertise related to Service-specific acquisition and innovation pathways.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders through decision-making forums (e.g., DMAG, Issue Team, JROC, etc.) to facilitate technology transition activities.
    • Proactively engage and provide support to stakeholders in developing, maintaining, and executing technology transition plans.
    • Maintain liaison with OSD CAPE and OUSD(A&S) for Issue Team coordination and other transition-related issues (Competitive Acquisition Pathway, Strategic Portfolio Reviews, etc.).
    • Prepare and deliver status reports to Congress and senior DoD leadership.
  • Required Experience:
    • At least 20 years of experience supporting the DoD and/or IC.
    • Subject-matter expertise in overcoming systemic technology transition challenges associated with the DoD acquisition “Valley of Death.”
    • Demonstrated record of successfully transitioning technologies from prototypes and joint experimentation activities to Service programs of record.
    • Program management experience leading a $50M+ technology development, design, manufacturing, integration, or test program; or leader of a portfolio of technology development programs.
    • Expert knowledge of DoD and Service-specific acquisition and innovation pathways.
    • Must be highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Desired Experience:
    • Self-starter, able to take initiative and operate independently.
    • Recent experience working with DoD and/or IC organizations associated with capability development such DARPA, SCO, ONR, NRL, AFRL, ARL, DIU, In-Q-Tel, DAF RCO, Space RCO, Navy RCO, or Army RCCTO.
    • OSD, Joint Staff, and/or Service Staff experience.
    • Self-starter, able to take initiative and operate independently.
    • Executive presence with highly effective communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to develop high-quality, professional briefings and written reports to succinctly capture technical concepts for senior DoD leadership and Congress.

    • Bachelor’s degree required.

        SEnior  Executive Assistant

          • As a Senior Executive Assistant with ASA you will provide senior-level clerical and administrative support for OSD senior executives and action officers located on site in Arlington, VA.  In this role you will:
            • Maintain the calendars of office personnel and coordinate the daily activities and travel schedules
            • Interface with executive-level meeting attendees, stakeholders, and planners to coordinate and ensure support for attendance at high-profile meetings.
            • Simultaneously manage multiple taskings from office personnel, appropriately prioritizing and delegating tasks for completion.
            • Coordinate travel, ensuring compliance with all official government travel regulations
            • Provide support for secure facility management and correspondence control
            • Assist with employee on-boarding processes
            • Ensure all necessary office supplies and equipment are available and operational
            • Maintain key accountability and facility access rosters, leave and TDY calendars to ensure coverage
          • Required Experience:
            • At least 10 years of relevant work experience.
            • Oral and written communication skills that include briefing at high levels
            • Ability to coordinate across large groups of people at multiple levels and experience working with senior officials in a fast-paced environment.
            • Demonstrated knowledge of DoD organization(s) and structure
          • Desired Experience:
            • Experience working as an executive assistant for general officer / flag rank or senior executive service staff
            • Military experience in a similar role
          • Education Requirement:
            • Bachelor’s degree
